Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik is proud sponsor of Martine Espeland
Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik is proud to be a sponsor of Martine Espeland, who participated in the prestigious Global Pastry Chef Challenge at the Worldchefs Global Chef Challenge in Rimini, Italy, 15–18 February 2025.
This is an exciting competition where the world's finest pastry chefs come together to showcase their craft and talent in pastry work.
As part of the competition, Martine presented a specially designed cake stand from Hadeland Glassverk, a product that highlights Norwegian design and craft tradition. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this major event and have cheered Martine on every step of the way.
Martine Espeland (24) is from Bryne and is part of the Norwegian National Culinary Team. She works at Michaels in Oslo on a daily basis, and was accompanied by Julia Gundersen as her assistant in the competition. Martine is the first Norwegian candidate in the Global Pastry Chef Challenge since Henrik Falkensten in 2017, and it is a great achievement to represent Norway in this competition. She has impressed with her dedication, passion, and technical skills, and we are enormously proud of her efforts.
At the European Grand Prix in Rimini, Italy, Martine Espeland, together with her assistant Julia Gundersen, secured victory in the Global Pastry Chef Challenge Europe North qualification. This means that Martine has not only won her category, but has also qualified for the world final of the Global Pastry Chef Challenge, to be held in Wales in May 2026. Once again Norway is put on the map in international pastry and culinary competitions, and we are incredibly proud of this achievement!
Trym Karlsen, 22 years old from Sørumsand, also won the Global Young Chef Challenge during the competitions in February 2025. Congratulations to Trym!
Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik is proud to support Norwegian culinary arts and promote young talents within gastronomy. We wish Martine the very best of luck in the world final – we are rooting for you!
