This plant, with its fragrant gray-green leaves, has been part of the region’s history for centuries, also represented in the city's coat of arms, alongside the anchor, which PP features in its logo. Traditionally, bog-myrtle was hung in bunches around homes for its pleasant scent, and it was also used in brewing beer.
