Lysebu x Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik: Porselenshus basert på Jette Frölich sin klippekunst

The Lysebu series is designed by the renowned Danish artist Jette Frölich, known for her delicate papercuts and poetic design language. For over 50 years, she has been an integral part of Danish Christmas celebrations.

Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik is pleased to present two new porcelain houses in the popular Lysebu collection: Kavalerfløyen (the Cavalier Wing) and Stabburet (the Storehouse). Previously, we had Lysebu Studiefløyen (the Lysebu Study Wing).

Frölich has drawn inspiration from Lysebu, the iconic Norwegian conference hotel, which was given as a gift from the people to Denmark after World War II – a symbol of friendship between the two countries. These beautiful, illuminated houses are miniatures of historical Lysebu, based on her drawings and paper model.

Stabbur

The Stabbur (storehouse): dates back to the 18th century and stood on a farm in Nore in Numedal before being moved to Lysebu in 2003.

The Cavalier Wing

The Cavalier Wing: After the fire at Voksenkollen Sanatorium, shipowner Anton Fredrik Klaveness purchased Lysebu in 1920. Architect Magnus Poulsson then created a complex that combined Norwegian tradition with modern expression – inspired by a fairytale king's court.

The Study Wing

Porselenshuset: The study wing, built as an extension of Gamle Lysebu, completed the courtyard to the north and made it possible to accommodate more Danish scholars – in line with Poulsson's vision of Lysebu as a modern royal manor.

The History of Lysebu
